Florida’s top-rated Italian restaurant faces another shutdown by state inspectors

‘A Touch of Italy Pizza and Pasta,’ a popular Italian eatery in Florida, renowned for its authentic flavors and local clientele, recently faced a setback due to health inspection issues. Despite its high rating and community love, the restaurant encountered regulatory hurdles, leading to temporary closures.

Boasting a 4.1 out of 5 stars rating on Google reviews, the restaurant has been a favorite for over 450 Inverness locals. Patrons like Kathy rave about its chicken marsala and pizza, complementing the establishment’s ambiance and affordability. However, this culinary haven ran into trouble during a routine health inspection.

On January 18, 2024, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation conducted an inspection, citing 16 violations across basic, intermediate, and high-priority categories. Concerns ranged from the presence of dead roaches and hairnet non-compliance to improperly dated food and an employee slicing cucumbers without gloves. Additionally, live roach activity was reported, further complicating matters.
