This is an open invitation to any of The Villages officials that think it isn’t necessary to change Morse Boulevard. Come spend a few hours with me sitting in my birdcage. My backyard has been Morse Boulevard for the past five years. I don’t care if you lower the speed limit to 20 or 15 miles per hour, it won’t stop the speeding nor the going around of turning vehicles using the golf cart lane to pass. Sumter County could make a lot of money just on this road alone if only there was enough manpower to stop these vehicles. I see one or two people stopped per week on this road by a deputy sheriff. Morse is a major short cut from U.S. Hwy. 441 to County Road 466 and County Road 466 to U.S. Hwy. 441. There are many big delivery trucks, landscaping trucks and trailers, motorcycles, emergency vehicles to and from the hospital and fire departments. When I see someone on a bicycle or walking on this road, I just hope they make it home…..
