Norman homeless shelter closes after surprise state fire marshal inspection

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — The overnight shelter for the unhoused in Norman is temporarily closed after a visit from the state fire marshal’s office.

“In their view, it was not suitable to continue allowing people to stay there,” said Mayor Stephen Tyler Holman of the City of Norman.

The emergency homeless shelter has 50 beds and is at capacity every night…
