Officer assaults hit 10-year high as violent crime falls, FBI says
OKLAHOMA CITY – Violent crime and murder fell nationwide in 2025 at rates not seen since the FBI began issuing national estimates in 1936, according to the agency’s newly released Reported Crimes in the Nation report.
“In 2025 compared to 2024, there was the largest drop in violent crime and murder since the FBI began issuing a report in 1936,” said Doug Goodwater, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Oklahoma City office.
