Case against man accused in death of Nebraska State Patrol trooper to be dismissed after mistrial

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The case against a Palmyra man who was charged in the death of a Nebraska State Patrol trooper which resulted in a mistrial, will be dismissed.

Cass County Attorney Christopher Perrone told First Alert 6 on Thursday the case against Thomas Jordan for the death of Trooper Kyle McAcy would be dismissed following discussions with family members, witnesses and jurors.

“The State contends the actions of Mr. Jordan operating his snowplow on February 17, 2025 were careless, and therefore criminal, but we also understand the facts lend themselves to valid legal defenses brought forth by the Defendant during trial upon which half the jury agreed,” Perrone stated…
