Lightning strike displaces Papillion family for up to six months

PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) – A Papillion family was displaced from their home after a lightning strike during Friday’s severe weather ignited a fire in their attic, causing fire, smoke and water damage throughout the house.

Jake and Morgan Anderson had lived in the home for six months. Repairs could take up to six months, according to the family.

‘We started to smell smoke’

The Andersons said they were watching the storm from their back door and filming lightning strikes when the bolt hit.

“We just saw a bright light and we figured it was just another lightning strike,” Morgan Anderson said…
