North Omaha standoff suspect appears in court, removed for disruption as charges read

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The man accused of leading Omaha Police on a chase before a multi-hour standoff last week appeared in court Monday – and was eventually removed for disrupting the proceedings.

Raynard Bass, 40, has been identified as the suspect in the Aug. 13 incident.

On Monday, Bass was arraigned on eight felony counts: theft by shoplifting – 3rd or subsequent, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony, attempt of a class I felony, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, intentional cruelty to an animal, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
