Omaha’s Mandan Park neighborhood association to hold meeting on speeding concerns

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha police say speeding is an issue in neighborhoods across the city, and one neighborhood association leader hopes getting the community more involved will help find a solution.

Steve Bolgar runs the Mandan Park Neighborhood Association and says he is seeing more drivers going too fast.

“We’ve seen things kind of escalate over the recent years. Maybe because of the construction and frustration with getting around and finding alternate routes,” Bolgar said.

13th Street has seen a lot of speeders. Omaha police say they stopped someone going almost double the 40 mile an hour speed limit at W Street.

Bolgar says the main road is not the only place it is happening. He sees speeders on side streets near schools and other community gathering spots. He’s floated the idea of making modifications to streets…
