ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lake Nona-area driver says U-turns on Narcoossee Road are slowing traffic and creating backups at intersections near Irenic Way and Kirby Smith Road, prompting Orange County traffic engineers to review the corridor.
Alan Johnsrud, who lives off Narcoossee Road, contacted Traffic Inbox about the issue. He said drivers making U-turns in left-turn lanes are delaying other drivers who are trying to turn into nearby neighborhoods and apartment complexes.
“Whenever I’m trying to take a left to get into home from Narcoossee Road, the light is never long enough to let all the vehicles through that need to get in, because of cars U-turning at that light,” Johnsrud said. “So, they slow everybody down, so then the timing’s off, and so none of us are able to make the light.”…
