ORLANDO, Fla. – Lawyers for a man convicted of killing a woman in Orlando more than 20 years ago will have their chance to try to convince a judge not to send him to death row.
Demorris Hunter, 59, was convicted earlier this year of strangling Theresa Green during a gathering at her Orlando home in 2002. A jury has already recommended the death penalty, but the final decision rests with the judge, who will hear arguments from both sides Monday morning.
