ORLANDO, Florida – The National Weather Service in Melbourne forecasts isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms across parts of the I-4 corridor this morning, Monday, July 27, 2026, with coverage increasing across East Central Florida this afternoon.
Slow-moving storms may produce heavy rainfall leading to localized flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, along with frequent lightning and strong wind gusts.

The NWS warns of the following hazards during the peak storm hours this afternoon and evening:
- Frequent lightning strikes
- Wind gusts up to 40-50 mph in the strongest storms
- Locally heavy downpours that may cause localized flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas
Warm and muggy conditions persist with highs in the low to mid 90s and peak heat indices up to 109°F. A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM for Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, and northern Brevard counties. A Moderate to Major HeatRisk is forecast across the advisory area. Residents and visitors should stay well-hydrated, wear light clothing, and take frequent breaks in air conditioning or shade.
