OCPS e-bike, e-scooter ban to take effect after Labor Day

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County Public Schools is cracking down on e-bikes and e-scooters as the district says enforcement of a new ban begins after Labor Day.

Under the new policy, only students with a learner’s permit or driver’s license will be allowed to ride e-bikes or e-scooters to school — and even those students will need to obtain a permit from their school first. That means elementary and middle school students will not be allowed to ride electric devices to campus at all.
