In a time when it feels like absolutely everything is getting more expensive, residents in one Florida town may have another cost to add to their budgets. According to WKMG News 6, Ocoee residents recently received a letter in the mail describing a proposed change that would see homeowners footing the bill for essential services.
That’s right, residents may soon be asked to cut a check to pay for the fire department for as much as $597. The city projects that it’s going to lose around $4.15 million from tax revenue during fiscal year 2027. Of course, they won’t know until after November, when residents will vote on proposed homestead exemptions.
