KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) — A Linn County man has pleaded guilty in connection with the 2025 death of a 13-year-old Kansas boy whose body was found in Missouri.
Damon Leonard pleaded guilty on Friday, May 22, to the charge of abandonment of a corpse.
Airen Andula had been reported missing on Dec. 21, 2025, after leaving his home on his bicycle in the Holiday Lakes neighborhood near Pleasanton, Kansas. Leonard later told law enforcement that he knew the location of the boy’s body and led deputies to the scene, which was across the state line in Bates County, Missouri.
The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department, an outside agency that was requested to take over the investigation, confirmed that several dogs were seized from Leonard’s property as part of the investigation…
