OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – Parents from six Olathe schools plan to use this weekend’s Old Settlers Celebration to speak out against a district plan to close their schools.
Groups plan to talk with families standing along the parade route at Johnson County Square Park about the proposed closures, rather than marching in the parade itself. Parents will wear shirts and stickers and hold signs with logos representing the effort.
Olathe Public Schools has
five elementary schools and one middle school, citing declining enrollment. The schools include Black Bob and Walnut Grove.
