Independence, Mo. (KCTV) – A man is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Independence overnight, and the driver who struck him has not been found.
The Independence Police Department said emergency crews responded just before 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, to the area of N. M-291 Frontage Rd. and 3rd Terr. after reports of a crash.
When first responders arrived, they indicated that they found a man lying in the roadway. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the man was pronounced deceased around 11:45 p.m.
Investigators noted that evidence at the scene indicates that the man was struck by a vehicle while walking in the area. The driver did not stop and sped off before help arrived…
