Costco has opened the doors at its first-ever location in Pensacola, Florida. The warehouse club continues to expand its footprint in the South, with plans to open stores in Texas and Georgia later in the summer.
The Pensacola store opened early at 8 a.m. on June 25 after a ribbon-cutting with the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce. Before Costco arrived in the “City of Five Flags,” Pensacola residents had to drive an hour west to the nearest store in Mobile, Alabama. This is only the second Costco location in the Panhandle; the first is in Tallahassee.
This May, Costco also opened a store in New Braunfels, Texas, in the San Antonio-Austin corridor. But Costco is really making moves in the Dallas metro area. The company expects to open two new locations in Celina and Mansfield this August, following the opening of new stores in Allen and Prosper in 2025.
