Santa Rosa County deputy, rookie K9 find missing teen with autism: Smiles Behind the Shield

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A scary moment for a Santa Rosa County family in May after their 15-year-old daughter with autism wandered away from home.

“By the time we arrived, the initial deputies had already done a search of the house, so we knew she wasn’t inside,” Detention Deputy Donald Carter said.
