Amber alert issued for Florida teen police believe may be kidnapped

(NewsNation) — An Amber Alert was issued Monday morning for a Florida teenager who authorities believe may have traveled out of state against her will.

Adriana Hernandez, 15, was last seen on April 7 near Pensacola, Florida. Police believe she may have been kidnapped and traveling to Georgia, NewsNation local affiliate WFLA reported.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said that “due to an ongoing investigation, this case has been upgraded to an Amber Alert.” It was previously being investigated as a runaway child, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office told local outlet Pensacola News Journal, but that changed when evidence was uncovered suggesting Hernandez could be in danger.

Hernandez is described as a white Hispanic female with brown eyes and brown hair, which “may have a reddish-brown tint.” She is 5 feet 1 inch and weighs 130 pounds.
