A century-old Philadelphia landmark, once the work of one of the city’s most celebrated architects, is now smashed windows, stolen bronze, and needles on the floor, writes Kimberly Haas of Hidden City Philadelphia.
The University Avenue Bridge, designed in 1925 by architect Paul Philippe Cret with engineer Stephen H. Noyes, carries traffic across the Schuylkill River between Grays Ferry and University City.
