A 24-year-old man was shot in the lower back Thursday afternoon on the 4200 block of Vista Street in Holmesburg, and hours later a 19-year-old man was shot on the 4900 block of Torresdale Avenue in Frankford — two separate, unrelated shootings that left Philadelphia police searching for suspects in both cases by nightfall.
Police say the first shooting happened around 3:50 p.m. on Vista Street, according to NBC10 Philadelphia. The victim was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made in either shooting, and police have not released information about a motive or suspects in the Vista Street case.
The second shooting followed around 7:40 p.m. on the 4900 block of Torresdale Avenue, per the same NBC10 report. That victim, a 19-year-old man, was also listed in stable condition. Philadelphia police are urging anyone with information on either shooting to call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or submit an anonymous tip online.
