Giant elk statue’s legs stolen from N.J. cemetery, along with $300K in bronze

Police are looking for a man who allegedly stole bronze items worth $300,000 from a cemetery in Camden County.

William Powell, 55, of Woodlynne, is accused of stealing bronze doors and the legs of a bronze elk statue from Harleigh Cemetery in Camden, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

An operations manager for the cemetery told police the thefts involved a man “repeatedly entering the property and removing bronze materials” from the Haddon Avenue graveyard, the affidavit states…
