PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — In six months, foie gras will be a dish of the past for Portland restaurants.
With a 7-5 vote, Portland City Council has approved a policy banning local businesses from selling or serving the gourmet delicacy that translates to “fatty liver” in French. Violators could be subjected to a $5,000 fine.
