African officials reveal Portland-based influencer’s cause of death

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Authorities in Zanzibar have ruled Portland-based influencer Ashly Robinson died after attempting to hang herself at a hotel, according to CBS News.

Robinson, who was known online as “Ashlee Jenae,” produced lifestyle content, amassing over 100,000 followers on Instagram.

Robinson’s parents told CBS News that she traveled to Zanzibar, Tanzania, for a birthday trip and engagement celebration with her fiancé, Joe McCann back in April.

Days later, they say he called from a hospital to say something had happened. Soon after, Robinson was dead.

Her family had previously raised questions about the investigation, but authorities say the evidence does not point to anyone else…
