Alumni, neighbors, pack CHS halls for ‘One Last Look’

Cleveland High School alumni, staff, students, and neighbors filled the historic old building late Friday, April 24, for “One Last Look – Our Farewell to CHS” – an event that organizers described as one of the most memorable nights in the school’s history.

The Commerce-Cleveland High School Alumni Association (CCHSAA) partnered with retired staff member and event coordinator Jann Watt to open the 1929 campus to graduates and the community one last time – ahead of its demolition, and the construction of a new school building scheduled to open in the fall 2029.

“Since I served as the event coordinator for the last 24 years of my career here, I knew how very important it is to provide an opportunity for our alumni and community to visit and bid farewell to our historic high school,” Watt reflected. “I serve as an adviser to the Commerce-Cleveland High School Alumni Assn. Board, and we joined forces to plan and host this evening.”…
