Catholic procession draws thousands to Portland streets

The new CareOregon Grand Floral Starlight Parade wasn’t the only procession to move through Portland’s streets this weekend.

While marching bands, dancers, horses and elaborate floats marked the Rose Festival’s pinnacle event Saturday, Sunday’s Corpus Christi procession wound through the same city in near silence, broken only by the occasional choir hymn rising from the crowd.
