Mason Hereford of the award-winning New Orleans sandwich shop Turkey and the Wolf is in Portland this weekend to take part in Kachka’s inaugural “The Summer of Sandwich” event Sunday afternoon.
The new festival will take up the parking lot at Kachka Fabrika in Northeast Portland and feature Turkey and The Wolf’s celebrated collard green melt, as well as sandwiches from Lardo, Magna (beating the heat with an ube-Milo ice cream sandwich), Pretty Nice Deli, Rosenstadt Brewery and Sammich.
Additionally, Kachka’s year-old distillery bar will be serving up sandwich-themed cocktails and pours of its latest infusion, Caraway Rye Toast Vodka.
