Vancouver bans people from standing on medians, lane dividers in the city

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KATU) — Vancouver city councilmembers unanimously approved an amendment to a public safety ordinance Monday night that will prohibit people from standing on medians, traffic islands, and lane dividers on roads throughout the city.

According to the council, this change is intended to improve safety for pedestrians and drivers on busy roads, including Mill Plain Boulevard and the City Center exit.
