Washington man sentenced after fleeing from federal custody in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Washington man was sentenced Monday after fleeing from federal custody, officials said.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Brandon Nelson, 40, had been convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and was sentenced to three years in prison and then three years of supervised release.

After violating his release conditions three times in Feb. 2025, officials said that Nelson’s supervision was revoked and he was sentenced to another year in prison…
