PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland police have arrested two suspects on multiple felony charges, including attempted murder and robbery, in connection with a series of shootings in the Buckman neighborhood and a downtown robbery during Independence Day weekend, authorities announced Sunday.
On July 4, the Portland Police Bureau responded to a shooting report at 6:03 a.m. near Southeast Grand Avenue and Southeast Washington Street. Once they got to the scene, the police did find evidence of gunfire, and upon investigation, they learned a male gunshot victim with serious injuries had been hospitalized. The victim is expected to survive. No immediate arrests were made because the suspect fled the scene.
The next day, at 2:58 a.m., PPB responded to another shooting report near Southeast 6th Avenue and Southeast Washington. When they arrived, they found evidence of gunfire and damaged property. Through an investigation, they were able to get witness interviews alongside other evidence. A victim was seriously injured but also expected to survive.
