Sellwood’s ‘CVS cat’ Nutmeg dies at 19

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – The cat who became a familiar face — and an honorary “employee” — at the CVS in Portland’s Sellwood neighborhood has died.

Nutmeg, an outdoor cat adopted about a year and a half ago, was known for regularly lounging inside the CVS near Southeast 17th Avenue and Tacoma Street. Store staff even made him a small work vest, a gesture that helped turn the friendly feline into a neighborhood celebrity.

Nutmeg’s owner, Gabi Moore, said he died over the weekend surrounded by people who cared about him…
