As reported by Portland Business Journal, the company is actively recruiting franchise owners, and the new locations are expected to arrive through franchise agreements. The report notes that Freddy’s has not yet shared firm opening dates or specific sites.

Freddy’s Is Recruiting Franchisees

The Freddy’s franchise portal now lists Oregon among its available territories and invites interested local operators to submit a development form or reach out to the chain’s real estate team. According to the Freddy’s franchise site, the brand is prioritizing master and multi-unit partners to grow in new markets.

Growth Push Backed By New Owners

The Oregon push follows the 2025 acquisition of Freddy’s by private equity firm Rhône, a deal the company and press coverage described as a way to speed up market expansion. Industry tracking and a Q1 2026 tenant expansion report place Freddy’s at roughly 559 restaurants and pursuing hundreds more openings as part of a rapid development plan. Recent franchise activity, including a 43-unit purchase by operator JRI Hospitality, highlights how quickly the chain can scale into fresh territory.

What Portland Might See

If franchise agreements move ahead, Freddy’s is expected to look for freestanding drive-thru prototypes and inline spots in suburban shopping centers, the same formats that have fueled its growth elsewhere.
