Portland Stabbing Near Southwest 11th Avenue Leaves Man Hospitalized After Suspect Flees Scene

PORTLAND, OR — A man was taken to the hospital after a stabbing reported Sunday afternoon near the 1300 block of Southwest 11th Avenue in Portland. Police said the victim’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The report came in just before 2 p.m. and triggered a heavy police response in the area. Part of the block was taped off while officers investigated, and the scene drew cruisers and multiple police units.

The call was logged on the Bureau of Emergency Communications website, and KATU crews saw officers surrounding the area soon after the report. Images from the scene showed crime tape stretched around the perimeter and a shopping cart lying on its side inside the blocked-off space.

Portland police had not immediately confirmed all the details of the incident on Sunday, but later said a man had been stabbed and transported for treatment.
