PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — As negotiations on a deal to renovate the Moda Center roll on, Multnomah County leaders are calling to pump the brakes.
Commissioners Meghan Moyer and Julia-Brim Edwards penned a letter to the Multnomah County Chair urging for a reset. The county board is weighing giving $88 million to a nearly $600 million renovation project. But after only one work session in June, the board is supposed to vote on the package July 23. That is not sitting well with some of the commissioners.

“We shouldn’t have a vote next week on our terms,” Commissioner Julia Brim-Edwards said. “And, you know, fundamentally, the county should not be providing a blank check. And we need to have the information so we can make informed, responsible decisions.”
“We are not trying to kill a deal at all,” Commissioner Meghan Moyer said. “But we really think that this– these negotiations have gotten off track.”…
