Hiker dies after ‘medical event’ on Angel’s Rest Trail in Columbia River Gorge

MULTNOMAH COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) – A 53-year-old man died on the Angel’s Rest Trail in the Columbia River Gorge after suffering from a medical emergency on Friday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m., crews with Corbett Fire and deputies with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the trail after the report of a hiker suffering from a “medical event” about two miles up the trail.

The sheriff’s office said other hikers gave him first aid and took turns giving him CPR, but despite their efforts, the man had died by the time emergency crews arrived…
