If you are one of the millions of people who watched the World Cup and heard a commentator shout “45 down, 45 to go” at halftime, then you’ve heard the voice of John Strong, who lives in West Linn and was raised in Lake Oswego.
Strong called the World Cup for Fox Sports — including the final between Spain and Argentina — with the help of researcher Erick Olsen, fellow co-founder of the Lake Oswego High School student broadcasting program. The duo has worked together on the last three World Cups.
