PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Portland-based property management company will pay its former tenants $725,000 after they wrongfully evicted them from their home in Vancouver in 2023.
The deal was announced Tuesday and is the largest settlement agreement for a wrongful eviction case in Washington history, according to the Northwest Justice Project and Rivercrest Law, which represented the plaintiffs.
Aaron Allen and her mother Kathleen Allen shared a home at Evergreen Village Apartments in Vancouver, which is operated by Portland-based Princeton Property Management. Kathleen is wheelchair-bound and relies on her daughter Aaron as a primary caregiver, according to court documents.
