PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon wildfire smoke helps place Portland on the top 10 worst air quality list among major cities on Monday, August 3.
IQAir ranks Portland as the number 10 worst major city for poor air quality on Monday. Portland’s air quality was worse than that of Wuhan, China, and Cairo, Egypt.
Monday’s increase in wildfire smoke in Portland was due to the historic acreage burned across the state so far this summer season. Winds transitioned from the west to northeast, helping to push wildfire smoke into the Willamette Valley.
