Beaverton commuters have probably clocked the sorry state of Walker Road near Murray Boulevard. The intersection was swarming with construction crews Tuesday. Large pipes and other materials sat piled near the road and an excavator breached the ground near Cedar Mill Creek.
That work is part of a years-long project to revamp the intersection, according to Washington County. The updates will add dual left-turn lanes and dedicated right-turn lanes on all four sides of the intersection, among other improvements. Crews broke ground in April, and the nearly $45 million project is scheduled to wrap up in the fall of 2028.
The right lanes and bike lane of Walker Road are currently closed near Murray Boulevard, and more closures will come down the line as construction progresses…
