Police: Vancouver teens climbed onto idle train before deadly incident

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A 16-year-old Vancouver boy was killed and another 16-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a train in North Portland on Monday.

Portland police said officers responded around 8:54 p.m. Monday to the 6900 block of North Willamette Boulevard after receiving reports that two people had been hit by a BNSF Railway train.

Officers found one of the teens with fatal injuries. The other teen was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening…
