Informant leads to arrest of accused fentanyl dealer in Goose Hollow

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland has one less suspected drug dealer on its streets.

With the help of a confidential informant, law enforcement authorities with the Portland Police Bureau and Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested a suspected fentanyl dealer on Aug. 21 near a bike trail in downtown Portland.

Gerson Hernandez-Ramos, also known as “Minor,” age 26, has been charged in federal court with possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of a substance containing fentanyl, according to charging documents. His arrest is part of an ongoing effort that began in 2023 to address the influx of fentanyl dealers in downtown Portland.

Investigators said they learned of Hernandez-Ramos in June after their informant reportedly told them he was selling “really good” fentanyl late at night near the Plaid Pantry and Safeway on Southwest 11th Avenue and Southwest Jefferson Street.

By August, authorities said they learned he had moved to a secluded bike path in the Goose Hollow neighborhood. The informant also reported seeing Hernandez-Ramos selling near the bike path around Southwest Mill Street Terrace and Southwest 18th Avenue, and seeing a line of customers in the area who said they were waiting for him, according to court documents…
