Body found with ‘suspicious’ injuries in Portland apartment leads to murder charge 2 weeks later

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A body discovered with “suspicious” injuries in early August led to the arrest of a man two weeks later, according to Portland police.

Kenneth A. Lacey, 37, is accused of killing 47-year-old Johnny Alexander and leaving the body until it was discovered inside an apartment in the area of 12000 E Burnside St. on Aug. 5.

Portland police officers were called to make a welfare check at the apartment complex just before midnight, where they found Alexander’s body and opened a death investigation.

“On Aug. 7, the Portland Police Homicide Unit was notified of some suspicious injuries that were not initially seen, and detectives launched an investigation,” officials said…
