PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A fire that damaged homes in Southeast Portland is raising new questions about a property where the city had already documented a potential fire hazard — and had moved toward foreclosing on just weeks before the flames spread into the neighborhood.
Portland Fire & Rescue said the fire started Sunday night with an RV burning in the backyard of a property near Southeast 124th Avenue and Burnside Street. Fire officials said the flames spread into the home and piles of debris, while embers ignited dry vegetation around the neighborhood.
