PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A suspected car thief was arrested after being tracked down in a tree after fleeing from an attempted traffic stop, deputies said. The ordeal was captured on video, which was shared on the Washington County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.
On Wednesday, August 26, around 2:40 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy tried to stop a driver who was speeding in excess of 100 miles per hour near Highway 26 and Northwest Jackson School Road.

The driver sped off, headed east, and was spotted by another deputy near Southwest 185th Avenue. The second deputy tried to pull the driver over, but he again sped off, the sheriff’s office said.
The vehicle in question was a black 2015 BMW 335 that was reported stolen, which deputies later located again turning onto Southwest 188th Court at an apartment complex. Deputies found the car, now empty, with three people running from it.
