Traffic Impact
Now through fall 2026, travelers can expect:
- Complete closure of I-5 southbound around the clock between I-405 and I-84 for up to five weeks starting September 11. One lane will remain open from the I-405 junction to the Broadway/Weidler exit.
- Sidewalk and lane closures on local streets near the Oregon Convention Center, including NE Oregon Street, N Interstate Ave, and NE Lloyd Blvd, for seismic upgrades and sign structure work.
- Occasional closures of the I-84 off-ramp to NE Holladay St near the Moda Center and the Oregon Convention Center for sign structure work.
- Occasional nighttime lane closures and possible shoulder closures on I-5 to construct stormwater facilities, sign structure installation, and I-5 bridge preservation.
