Two killed, including Vancouver man, in head-on crash of semi-truck and Jeep in Oregon

Two people died Monday night after a semi-truck lost control and collided with an oncoming car on U.S. Route 26 near milepost 74 in Wasco County, Oregon State Police said.

Dagoberto Moreno-Prada, 31, of Eugene, was driving a semi-truck hauling a 53-foot intermodal container on U.S. Route 26 when he lost control while navigating a corner at about 9:16 p.m., according to the Oregon State Police’s preliminary investigation. The semi-truck and trailer rolled and slid into the opposite, westbound, lane.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by J. Natividad Martinez-Colin, 35, of Vancouver, struck the semi-truck head-on in the westbound lane. The intermodal container dislodged from the trailer, and both the container and the Jeep went through the guardrail and came to rest off the roadway.
