PORTLAND, Ore. — The southbound I-5 closure has cut into lunch business at Faceplant, a plant-based fast-food restaurant on Swan Island. Its operations manager says the slowdown could mean fewer tips and hours for employees.
Will Young said some businesses on the island have told employees to work from home during the five-week closure.
“We probably saw, as of this last weekend, probably sales were down overall about $4,000,” Young said. “We were expecting, if that trend continued, to probably lose about $10,000 of sales for the couple of weeks.”…
