‘Decisions like this are never easy’: Credit union will depart from Downtown Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Pacific Northwest credit union is leaving Downtown Portland.

Rivermark Community Credit Union’s branch and ATM on 120 SW Taylor St. will permanently close on Tuesday, June 30, according to a recent announcement from the organization.

“Decisions like this are never easy, especially when they affect long standing routines,” Rivermark said in a statement. “As a member‑owned credit union, we continually review how and where our members are choosing to bank with us. Over time, in‑branch usage at this location has declined, and after weighing many factors, we determined that closing this branch allows us to continue serving our full membership in the strongest, most responsible way possible both today and in the future.”
