PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A serious car crash in downtown Portland on Saturday hospitalized three people, and police believe it may have been a result of driving under the influence.

At approximately 1:04 a.m.,officers responded to reports of a serious car crash involving two vehicles. One of them included a rideshare driver and a passenger. Police believe a driver of one of the vehicles was driving under the influence of substances.
Officials said drivers of both vehicles were pinned in and unable to exit on their own power and emergency crews needed to use tools to release them and send them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
They add that the Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division unit launched a DUII investigation related to the driver of one of the vehicles, and medical examiners believe all three patients are expected to survive…
