PORTLAND, Ore. — The owner of Portland’s Darcelle XV Showplace says he found the historic plaque in front of the club covered in hate speech last week — less than two months before a city plaza honoring the late drag queen is set to open.
Jeremey Corvus-Peck, who owns the historic venue, posted on Facebook on Friday that he discovered the vandalism when he visited the club that day.
